Making a difference to Bridgwater Rangers

The 1st Bridgwater Rangers group has benefitted from a grant from the Homes in Sedgemoor Making a Difference fund.

Chris Wheadon from Bridgwater Rangers said: “The grant has allowed us to purchase equipment to be able to facilitate a variety of different activities, including an outdoor cookout.  Rangers offer the opportunity to have fun, actively encouraging personal development and forging new friendships, as they interact with girls from different backgrounds, whilst being away from normal school/college and home life.

“1st Bridgwater Rangers would like to thank Homes in Sedgemoor for their continued support.”

Applications can be submitted to the fund by local groups for any amount up to the value of £500. On this occasion, the grant panel were told by the Rangers that £500 would cover most of the £563 cost of their projects. The panel felt that on this occasion they could award the group the full amount needed.

If you are between 14-18 and live in Bridgwater or the surrounding area and would like to find out more, then please do not hesitate to contact bridgwaterrangers@aol.com or call 07739 255157.

The fund helps improve life chances and aims to create local initiatives such as play schemes and volunteering opportunities, especially those which support families in the community. We know that through these grants, groups related to Homes in Sedgemoor can continue their work in their neighbourhoods and we are happy to support 1st Bridgwater Rangers.”
