Following the closure of Albert Street in Bridgwater, a joint statement from Homes in Sedgemoor and Somerset Council said:
“During Storm Darragh, part of the roof on a block of flats at Westfield Close, Bridgwater was damaged, causing debris to block Albert Street.
“The safety of our customers is our top priority, and we are working closely with our contractor, and other agencies, to fully understand the extent of the damage and put a repair plan in place.
“Due to the damage to the roof, a number of customers have been offered temporary accommodation and we are working hard to ensure they can return home as soon as possible. Homes in Sedgemoor has been in regular contact with customers directly affected by the damage and visited individual flats, and we will continue to liaise with customers until the incident has been fully resolved.”
