Christmas Party at The Hub

Homes in Sedgemoor teamed up with the Hub in Hamp, Bridgwater, to hold a Christmas meal for customers.

Guests enjoyed a delicious three-course meal at ReCreation, a fun Christmas quiz, and festive tunes from the Hamp Academy choir.

Jade, Customer Focus Assistant, said: “We collaborated with the Hub to help with a Christmas meal for residents.

“It was a great success with people donating their free time, everyone enjoyed it.”

Hamp residents added: “The Christmas Party was amazing, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.”

The Recreation Community Hub on Rhode Lane Hamp reopened earlier this year after being acquired last year by the Town Council with the aim of refurbishing the building and reopening it for residents to use as a community space.

Ann-Marie, Bridgwater Town Council’s Community Development Officer, said: “What a brilliant day we had working together with support from volunteers to give members of the community a Christmas treat.

“The continued connection between Bridgwater Town Council and Homes in Sedgemoor can only make our communities stronger and I hope that 2025 will bring further opportunities for us to work together.”

The Hub is also the home of the South Bridgwater Local Pantry which is helping to avoid food going to waste from the supermarkets. Residents pay a weekly fee of £3.50 which allows them to choose food to the value of around £9.
