A customer of General Higgins says he and other residents are delighted with the recent refurbishment of the Communal Room.
Mr Derrick said that they are all “over the moon” with the work.
To complete the picture in readiness for Christmas, Proper Job also donated a Christmas Tree so everyone is feeling very festive!
A message from residents to express their gratitude reads as follows:
The cleaning, decorating, and new furniture has made a fantastic improvement to us all and we thank you for your efforts in achieving this on our behalf. I enclose pictures of the common room resplendent in its new paint work, clean carpet, and new furniture.
We have decorated for Christmas as you can see. It has had an immediate impact on the lives and inclusion for all of us. As a facility it was usually empty by midafternoon, but now our residents are using it for social gatherings well into the evening.
We don’t know why you chose to help us; but we are very happy you did. I hope you will be able to find time to visit us and see what a difference it has made for us all. We hold a tea and cake afternoon every Wednesday and cordially invite you to join us. Kate is usually here on Wednesday so she can introduce you to us.
We know money is very tight now and we do appreciate the investment you have given to us, and we will make the most of it. I hope you enjoy the pictures and look forward to welcoming you at one of our Wednesday tea and cake afternoons.
