Homes in Sedgemoor is working towards the Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA) accreditation to ensure we continue to give survivors the support they need.
We are pleased to share with you that we have been offered £208,813.39 for our project to improve the energy efficiency of some of our properties within Sedgemoor, lowering energy bills, and making homes warmer.
Katy, Compliance & Asset Surveyor, said:
“I am delighted that Homes in Sedgemoor was successful in our bid for funding.
“With these funds we will be able to retrofit 22 properties – providing warmer and more energy efficient homes for our customers, as well as reducing carbon emissions in our journey towards decarbonisation.”
Following a successful bid by South West Energy Hub, our properties in Sedgemoor will benefit from new heat pumps, double glazing, solar panels and external roof and wall insulation. These measures will improve the properties’ overall energy performance rating to a ‘C’ rating or higher.
A total of £4.8 million will be awarded through the Government’s Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) for energy-efficiency home improvements to 467 social housing properties across the wider South West region.
We will be working with South West Energy Hub to deliver these improvements across Sedgemoor.
Jon Rattenbury, Programme Director for the South West Energy Hub said:
“The confirmed SHDF funding is fantastic news for the South West region.
“Our successful bid will ensure we can continue support the delivery of green energy and energy efficiency measures as we look forward to tackling the climate emergency and reducing fuel poverty in the coming years.”
Homes in Sedgemoor along with other social housing landlords will contribute a combined total of £3.5 million of match funding alongside the £4.8 million from Government.
