At Homes in Sedgemoor, we are proud of our green credentials and work hard to ensure that our impact on the environment is as light […]
The new contract will mean MD Group will continue to look after nearly 4,200 homes spread over 218 square miles. The company already carries out more than 11,000 repairs a year for HiS and prepares 300 empty properties for re-letting.
Peter Hatch, Chief Executive of HiS, said:
“I am delighted that Homes in Sedgemoor will renew its successful partnership with MD Group for the provision of responsive repairs. Keeping our customers’ homes safe and in good order is so important and I look forward to Homes in Sedgemoor and MD working together to provide an even better service over the coming years.”
MD Group successfully won the tender to provide services including property repairs and maintenance on HiS-managed properties and restoring recently vacated empty properties, known as voids, so they can be re-let.
The new contract will last for an initial three years, plus an additional period of up to four years should it be desired.
Part of the tender looked at innovation, so HiS will be looking forward to working closely with MD to take this further. HiS colleagues will be able to book engineer appointments and customers will then be able to track appointments for work to be done through the new LocalZ app.
MD Group has been working with HiS for a number of years and their partnership working resulted in MD winning the Development or Maintenance Team of the Year award in 2019 for their innovative Same Day Repair Service. This service means a customer can call to report a repair and an MD operative visits that day, with a ‘first-time fix’ mindset. This innovative service earned 100% customer satisfaction in its first months of operation.
MD Group is also the headline sponsor for the Homes in Sedgemoor Star Awards, to be presented in October.
Steve Devlin, Executive Director of MD Group, said:
“We are both honoured and delighted to have successfully retained the responsive repairs contract with HiS. It is true testament to our strong working relationship, and the performance of both teams that will enable the service to flourish in the future. For now, we look forward to continuing to deliver a truly bespoke service to HiS’ customers and maintaining their homes to the standards they deserve.”
