What’s happening in March?
A new chair has been appointed to our Sedgemoor Tenants Assurance Committee (STAC).
Sarah, who is married and lives on the outskirts of Bristol with her rescue cat, Gimli, was welcomed to the group in March. Outside of work, her interests include travel, theatre, cooking and volunteering as a charity trustee.
Sarah said:
“I have been a non-executive director, consultant, and board advisor in previous organisations,” she said.
“I have considerable commercial experience, starting in fast moving consumer goods, working for companies such as PepsiCo, Ferrero, Premier Foods, Mars and Nestle.
“Also, I have had a strong personal interest in the housing sector, and I am looking forward to working with the STAC members to provide oversight and assurance of the Homes in Sedgemoor strategy and
compliance with the Regulator of Social Housing’s consumer standards.
“I am enthusiastic about ensuring housing is fit to combat the effects of climate change and to achieve the net zero carbon emission targets. My experience in this area includes being trained by Al Gore as a Climate Reality Leader.”
STAC helps to give our customers a bigger voice on a larger platform within Homes in Sedgemoor. Working closely with the Board, STAC provides customer-based assurance that the customer standards of the Regulatory Framework for Social Housing in England are being met.
Homes in Sedgemoor’s Director of Communities and Customer Service, Claire, said:
“We are really pleased to welcome Sarah as the new Chair of STAC.
“Sarah brings a great wealth of experience as a former director and committee member working outside of the housing sector but is very well placed to lead our Assurance Committee; to monitor performance and ensure customers get the absolute best from Homes in Sedgemoor. Exciting times are ahead!”
Customer involvement and feedback are at the heart of what we do and give customers an opportunity to influence decision-making and improve our services.
