A Homes in Sedgemoor team were joined by Town Councillor Rachel Lilley and gathered at Westover Green for our latest West Street Walkabout and were met by a general feeling of satisfaction from a few residents, with no complaints or concerns. The trimming of trees outside one row of bungalows, which had been interfering with television signals, was noted.
There were concerns heard on the other side of West Street, with walkabout members joined by Councillors Brian Smedley and Tim Mander to view the area around Westfield House, Southbourne House and West Bow. The main concern in West Street was the external condition of one block of properties in Halswell Close and missing concrete bollards in the same area allowing unofficial vehicle access. At Westfield House those attending were told that parking on the green area at the front of the building, a regular issue of concern, was shortly to be restricted by the erection of a post and rail fence. Work on this started the following day.
The main issue at Southbourne House was the operation of the laundry facilities with signage on the doors viewed as in urgent need of updating.
At West Bow there was a request for the removal of moss on the asphalt drying area at the rear of the building, and arrangements were made for the visit of a jet washer in the near future, to clear the area of the green spongy growth.
